BMC Purchases Alma Center Production Facility

ALMA CENTER, WI – Badger Mining Corp. has announced they have purchased the production facility of Northern Frac Proppants II, LLC (NFP).  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Marty Lehman, BMC Associate, stated this is a strategic purchase that strengthens BMC’s position as an industry leader for the long term.

“Our associates and their passion for success define who we are as a family-owned business.  The culture of environmental responsibility, team, quality, safety and integrity underscores how we do business.  That will continue as we move forward, and we are excited about the opportunities presented by this acquisition.” Lehman said.

BMC currently employs approximately 360 associates at seven facilities in Wisconsin.

BMC 2014 WMC Business Friend of the ENV Award Winner

Badger Mining Corporation (BMC) was awarded the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) 2014 Business Friend of the Environment Award in recognition of our environmental innovation efforts for the integration of geomorphic land reclamation at the Taylor Plant.  Geomorphic land reclamation is a landscape reconstruction technique that mimics original surface forms and drainage patterns of the natural landscape surrounding a mined area.  It reduces erosion and water pollution, minimizes long-term maintenance and allows for a seamless transition into the surrounding landscape.

On May 14th, 2014, Evan Mudd, Craig LeNoble and Andy Chikowski accepted the prestigious award on BMC’s behalf from Cathy Stepp, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Secretary, at the WMC Business Friend of the Environment Awards Conference.

For the last 25 years, the WMC Business Friend of the Environment Awards has highlighted what Wisconsin companies are doing in the area of pollution prevention, innovative technology and environmental stewardship.  The goal of the awards program is to demonstrate to policy makers, businesses and the public that sound environmental practices are good for Wisconsin and its business environment.   BMC did receive this award in 1997 for the Clifford A. Chier Resource Center project and in 1999 for the St. Marie Snake Creek Trail.BMC’s sense of responsibility to our neighbors, our desire to preserve the natural beauty and resources of our state and our interest in promoting a strong economic landscape proved all the incentive necessary to push beyond normal regulatory requirements.  Environmental responsibility is one of our corporate values.  The Environmental Team thanks everyone’s support in believing in what we can do, but most importantly, doing the right thing for the environment and future generations.

Badger Mining Corporation named to Great Place to Work list for 8th consecutive year

At last night’s awards ceremony in Phoenix, AZ, the rankings for the 2013 Great Place to Work Best Small and Medium Workplaces were announced.  For the 8th consecutive year Badger Mining Corporation has been named to the list, achieving the 6th place ranking for 2013.  BMC was honored along with 24 other small and medium sized corporate organizations.  Lynn Sweet was in attendance to accept the award on behalf of BMC.

Per Beth Nighbor, Associate Development Leader, “this continues to be a great accomplishment for Badger.  More importantly, it is a testimony to the strong working relationships our associates build with each other and our customers.  None of this would be possible without their commitment.”
